how thinkware dash cam works when vehicle is off

Went to re-format the original but Windows states the disk is write protected. tried to format with dashcam and windows but cannot. The card cannot be written to by the dashcam and when I looked at it using windows it was full and write protected! Chkdsk reports the disk is OK, just full but cannot remove the write protect. About 8 years ago I bough a cheapo dashcam from Amazon for about 30 quid, this is still working just fine.ĭash cam fine until I had an issue with the memory card (original 64Mb thinkware). I only bough the F200 pro because it used the same power and gps inputs so no messing around with wiring. I previously had the F50 fitted by an authorised installer but this camera needed replacing a few times in the first year, it should have suppoerted 64gb cards but wouldn't, it then started corrupting cards (sandisk, so not cheap), I reinstalled the firmware several times but eventually it just kicked its legs in the air and died. Several messages to teh support desk got me nowhere, they then suggested I do to another website and try downloading more firmware from there () but this site doesn't even work, clicking for firmware on ANY of the cameras does absolutely nothing at all. According to my mobile I'm connected to the camera but according to the app I'm not, so I can't see where the thing is pointing and I can't make any adjsutments - you can only make these via the app, not via a pc. The camera may be good but the software is lousy - you can only make any adjutments to the camera via an app on a mobile which is SUPPOSED to connevct via wifi. I bought a thinkware F200 pro thinking I was buying a good dashcam. Don't bother, you can get a real dashcam for these prices
